Position Overview

Join the VA Central Iowa Health Care System (HCS) as a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) providing anesthesia services in inpatient and outpatient settings for diverse patient complexities. This role emphasizes quality care, patient safety, and alignment with VA's Whole Health System approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations, anesthesia induction/maintenance/emergence, post-anesthesia care, and peri-anesthetic support.
• Develop and implement comprehensive anesthesia plans for local, regional, general, and monitored anesthesia inside/outside the OR.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, prescribe medications, and participate in on-call rotation.
• Serve as a resource for staff education, precept trainees, and implement evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship preferred.
• Full, unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory.
• Proficient in English.
• Pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
• Participate in seasonal influenza vaccination program.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $183,268 - $265,675 per year.
• PTO: 50 days per year (26 annual leave, 13 sick, 11 federal holidays).
• Retirement: Federal pension (5-year vesting) + 401K with up to 5% VA match.

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.
• On-call rotation required.
• No telework or virtual option.
