Position Overview

Join the Veterans Health Administration as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at the Western New York Health Care Systems in Buffalo, NY. Practice to the full extent of your education, training, and certification, providing comprehensive anesthesia services in inpatient and outpatient settings for diverse patient complexities.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia including pre-anesthesia evaluation, induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia care.
• Develop and implement anesthesia plans for local, regional, general, and monitored anesthesia inside and outside the OR.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, prescribe medications, and serve as a resource for staff education and precepting trainees.
• Promote patient safety, satisfaction, and evidence-based practices while exemplifying VA ICARE values.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $183,064 - $243,465 per year
• Paid Time Off: 50 days annually (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays)
• Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5-year vesting) + federal 401K with up to 5% VA contributions
• Insurance: Federal health, vision, dental, term life, long-term care (carryable into retirement)
• Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license paid

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Full-time: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
• Compressed/flexible schedules available
• Telework available (not remote/virtual)

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship preferred
• Proficient in English
• Unrestricted CRNA license
• Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
• Influenza vaccination required
