Position Overview

Lead the Section of Anesthesia at Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, New York. Oversee anesthesiology physicians delivering comprehensive care to Veterans with complex conditions. Develop strategic plans, ensure high clinical standards, and foster interdisciplinary teamwork in a patient-centric environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise anesthesia team for preoperative assessments, intraoperative care, and post-anesthesia recovery in OR, endoscopy, and inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Manage operational aspects of Anesthesia Service, including quality improvement, systems redesign, and accreditation readiness.
• Collaborate with surgical leaders, champion evidence-based medicine, and participate in peer reviews and administrative activities.
• Maintain clinical competency and ensure team privileging standards.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD/DO) from accredited institution.
• Board certification implied for leadership role.
• U.S. Citizenship preferred; unrestricted U.S. license.
• Proficiency in English; pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $295,000 - $400,000 per year.
• PTO: 50-55 days (26 annual, 13 sick, 11 federal holidays + possible 5 CME days).
