VA Anesthesiologist $300K-$400K | Honolulu, HI

Position Overview

Join the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System as a Staff Anesthesiologist in Honolulu, Hawaii. Provide anesthetic care for adult and geriatric patients in the Operating Room, supervise CRNAs and anesthesia techs, and consult on pre-surgical evaluations, airway management, IV access, and pain control. Practice across multiple sites including other Hawaiian Islands and Pacific locations. Open continuous announcement until May 15, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor general and regional anesthesia.
• Serve as 24-hour consultant for IV sedation.
• Lead pre-operative patient preparation and surgical quality improvement (VASQIP).
• Relate courteously to patients and staff while maintaining confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from accredited school.
• Full, unrestricted U.S. medical license.
• U.S. citizenship (non-citizens in limited cases).
• Proficient in English; pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Board certification preferred for full CME reimbursement.

• VA Pacific Islands Health Care System: Federal healthcare for veterans in Honolulu and surrounding Pacific Islands.
• Multi-site credentialing including community and DOD locations.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $300,000 - $400,000 per year, plus performance bonus and increases.
• Sign-on Bonus: Recruitment incentive authorized.
• EDRP: Up to $200,000 student loan repayment (1-5 years).
• PTO: 50-55 days/year (26 annual, 13 sick, 11 federal holidays, 5 CME days).
