Position Overview

Join the Veterans Health Administration as a Fee Basis Anesthesiologist in Albany, New York. Provide perioperative anesthetic care including preoperative assessments, intraoperative administration, and post-anesthesia recovery for surgeries such as general, orthopedics, plastics, ophthalmology, diabetic foot, and oral surgery. Rotational on-call coverage required.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of perioperative anesthetic care in OR, PACU, ICU, and clinic settings.
• Meet Joint Commission documentation standards and contribute to program planning, policies, and quality care delivery.
• Maintain current clinical privileges, licensure, CPR/ACLS, and other credentials.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from accredited LCME or AOA school.
• 1 full and unrestricted license from any US state or territory.
• U.S. Citizenship preferred; proficient in English.
• Pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Participate in seasonal influenza vaccination program.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $123,077 - $180,519 (fee basis, base pay + market pay).
